Alexander Harris, an original member of the Scoobies, has neither super strength, magical powers, or exceptional knowledge of the paranormal (or normal for that matter). Notwithstanding these limitations, he remains a key member of the BtVS team fighting against evil. As the academically (and hormonally) challenged high school student who occasionally sleeps outside to avoid his drunken family's fights, and (later on) lives in the basement of his parent's house, Xander often finds himself in harm's way. Yet, he has proven time and time again, to be invaluable - from preventing Willow from destroying the world to the selfless task of bringing Buffy back from the dead - the first time. Despite his obvious shortcomings, Xander Harris is a courageous every-guy and emerges, perhaps, as the most heroic of all the Scoobies.
