I intend to examine the character of Willow Rosenberg in terms of the inventive way that she uses language, and see how her use (and invention) of what's been called "Slayer Slang" can be seen as an indicator of the several transformations that her character experiences during the course of Buffy's seven-year run. Both "Vamp Willow" and "Dark Willow" use language quite differently from Willow herself, and my paper will explore why this is important, from a philosophical standpoint, to the development of Willow's character as a whole.
