Buffy Scholar/Critic

Dr. John McGuire (Ph.D., University of Missouri, 2004) is an assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Broadcasting at Oklahoma State University. He has presented papers at several national conferences examining gender roles within female action-adventure series. His other research interests include broadcast history, audience response to sports play-by-play broadcasts, and political communication. His professional background includes 12 years working as news director for public radio KXCV-FM in Maryville, Missouri where he received national and state recognition for his reporting.
