If you've finished up a story and need someone else to read over it and check for certain things, e-mail one of these great beta-readers! Generally, it's polite to e-mail the person before sending the story to them, so let them know that you've written up a story and they'll get right back to you.

Rating Preference:
G to NC-17
Genre Preferences:
Any except horror
Likes: I
read a variety of pairing and characters, but I have a real soft spot for
the Brits: Spike, Wesley and Giles. I'm a Buffy/Spike shipper at heart
but have no problem working on stories with other pairings of that couple
or others. I enjoy reading and writing both canon and fantasy (no
slayer/vamps) stories.
Dislikes:
Character distortion for no legitimate reason. If it's canon, within a
certain realm of interpretation, the character should reflect canon, even
if they grow and develop after that point as the story progresses. Also,
one-dimensional characters.
Specializes in:
Plot. Characterization. I read a wide array of fiction, so I’m familiar
with a variety of techniques and conventions and I love to bounce around
story ideas and suggestions. As for grammar/spelling - I edit professional
and academic writing, which is a little different than fiction, but the
same grammar rules apply (mostly)! I have been a big fan of Buffy since
S2, and I'm very familiar with the canon in both the Buffy and Angelverse
as a basis for manipulating characters.
About how long it'd
take to return the story: It really depends on real life
committments in any given week. Sometimes a few hours, more likely a few
days. Can't guarantee immediate turn-around, but I try to be reasonably
prompt in feedback. 2.

Name: Maital (aka Meme) E-mail: meme_r@bezeqint.net or meme_r@walla.co.il URL (If app.): N/A Rating Preference:PG-13 to NC-17 Genre Preferences: Anything but horror and rarely angst. Likes: Fluffiness, Smuttiness & Happiness are of the good. But honestly I'll do more or less anything. Dislikes: Songfics and AU/AR/AD/Alternate-something-else. Also, I despise Riley, so I can't be 100% on his characterization, though I'm always trying to be objective. Specializes in: Grammar and spelling, characterization. And if you have bits of a foreign language in your fic (Latin for your spells, Italian for your Pizza recipe, whatever) I'd LOVE to be your beta! BTW, Hebrew's my native language, plus I'm Jewish, so if that helps anyone with anything... ^_^ About how long it'd take to return the story: Depends on my schedule, which changes constantly. On a usual week, it would vary between a couple of hours and 2 days, more or less. Take note that I live in Israel, so my wake hours might be weird. |

Name: Monica E-mail: morganna3@yahoo.com URL (If app.): N/A Rating Preference: PG-13 to NC-17 Genre Preferences: Just about anything depending on my mood. I’ve read everything from angst to fluff to PWP to H/C etc. Likes: I am a Buffy fan and prefer her with Spike, Angelus or both. I tend to tread on the darker side of fanfic, however I do like my happy endings and a dose of humor throughout. Dislikes: Factual mistakes (i.e. Buffy’s eyes are not blue, Spike is not the Scourge of Britain etc.) AU’s where everyone is human. Fic completely based out of canon, though I still like fanfic that at least begins in canon and eventually goes AU. Specializes in: Grammar, factual accuracy, BtVS canon and plot. I have several degrees in history, which probably explains my pickiness in regards to factual accuracy. I’ve also had several academic pieces published and am fairly good at self-editing. I have a number of grammar books to use when I have questions in this area. Also, I have every BtVS episode on either DVD or VHS and am very familiar with the canon of this show. I have seen very few episodes of AtS but have a general knowledge of characters and story arcs. About how long it'd take to return the story: It depends on the length of the story and how busy I am. On a general basis, I can have a story returned within 24 to 48 hours. I do sometimes have to go out of town and in those instances the return rate would be longer. |

Dislikes: N/S Specializes in: I have a BA in English Literature circa 1993 and am an avid reader. Name: Rachel E-mail: SpiffyArtGirl@comcast.net URL (If app.): http://www.sinister-attraction.org/ Rating Preference: Anything up to R Genre Preferences: Almost anything, though I prefer either fluff, or action/suspense that takes place in the real Buffy-cerse before AU/Fantasy Likes: A story with a purpose, not anything that's plot-less. Mostly Spuffy, but all characters involved or fine. Dislikes: PWPs, a complete lack of plot unless its just a fluff piece. Also, any stories that look as if a 4 year old wrote them and the author didn't catch stupid, little mistakes before sending it to a beta. Specializes in: Dialogue and making sure characterization and continuity continues throughout the story. About how long it'd take to return the story: Please e-mail me first. Sometimes my schedule can get very hectic and it might take a while to return the story. Not to mention that I run this site, and that already takes up a lot of my time. If things are good, less than a week.
