William

Before Fool for love and Lies My Parent's Told Me, everyone was perplexed on what William was like. Quite a few people believed that like Spike, William was a bit of a fool. Nothing more than a little boy who had a attention disorder and was a street thug. However, William was quite the opposite, he was a fool for love (pardon the pun).

William was nervous and bookish and the author of what many considered 'bloody awful' poetry, leading to the nickname William the Bloody. Like Spike though he was consumed with passion and obsession, which anchored itself in not only his poetry but also in the woman who caught his eye, Cecily. Cecily did not return the affection, point of fact, she was mortified by it. Confronting William at a party where a fellow reveler read his poetry of affection out loud, Cecily asked him if his poetry was about her. He told her every word of it was and admitted that even if he was a bad poet that he was a good man and all he wanted was for her to see him. She told him she did see him and that was the problem, he was beneath her.

Devastated by Cecily's revelation an upset William, tears and all, tore out into the cobblestone London streets ripping his verses to shreds.

As Cecily looked over and away from William another woman spied him bustling through the streets. This would be Drusilla. She saw him and felt no need to look beyond him. Instead she followed him into a stable, disrupting his quiet refuge from humiliation. Startled upon her arrival seemingly out of nowhere, William tried to dismiss her, first arguing her safety than arguing that he wouldn't be giving up his 'purse' in the assumption she'd shown up for pickpocketing. Drusilla though wasn't after his purse. She was after him.

It took her a few short minutes to pull all the information from his mind that she needed to wrap the beaten human around her finger. It wasn't long at all before she sank her fangs into his neck and put to death all traces of the man called William, siring the vampire we would soon learn to call Spike.
