Past Relationships:
Cecily :
Cecily - Spike met her in 1860 and she was the love of Williams human life. Poor William however was not good enough for her. He wrote terrible poems:
My heart expands/'tis grown a bulge in it/inspired by your
beauty,
effulgent." (laughs) Effulgent?
Cecily then asks if Williams cares for her and he admits they are:
Cecily: Your poetry, it's... they're... not written about me, are they?
Spike: They're about how I feel.
Cecily: Yes, but are they about me?
Spike: Every syllable.
He tells her that he loves her, and she demands him to stop. He tells her that he knows although he is a bad poet, he is indeed a good man. Cecily is horrified and admits that he is "beneath her" and William heart breaks. He then leaves the party, he strides out of the party and meets Drusilla
It has been hinted at that Hallie (Anya's vengeance friend) is indeed Cecile. In the episode "Older and Far Away", Hallie calls out:
Halfrek: (shocked whisper) William?
Spike (frowning) Hey, wait a minute.
Buffy: You guys know each other?
So it's not that much of mystery of how that love story ended up.
Spike & Drusilla
History: Drusilla was living a pure and chaste life in 1860 in London when Angel came on the scene, then known as Angelus. The sadistic vampire first drove Drusilla mad by murdering her entire family and anyone she had ever loved, then tortured her until she decided to become a nun. On the day Dru was to take Orders, Angel made her a vampire, and his lover. Her insanity has continued since, along with a degree of precognitive ability. She has been romantically involved with Spike for a while, and has spent some time in Prague, although she was almost killed by a mob there. She has a penchant for plants and animals, but through not bothering to look after them, everything seems to die around her.
Reason for Arrival in Sunnydale: Tagging along with Spike, who is looking after Dru in her weakened state. She soon realizes the potential of living on the Hellmouth, however.
Fiendish Plans: With some help from the injured Spike, Drusilla manages to reassemble the Judge, an ancient vampire who is able to burn the humanity out of any creature, leaving only the evil on Earth if he succeeds in his mission. On a trip to the mall with her new prize though, the Judge is destroyed by Buffy using a weapon that was not forged, which is the only thing that can kill him. Drusilla is very taken with Angel when he reverts to his former evil self, and goes along with his plan to send the world into Hell, little realizing that her beloved Spike has plans of his own.
Success Rate: Difficult to calculate, as most of Drusilla's plans are undertaken under the command of Angel. However, she does manage to kill the second Slayer, Kendra, making her one short of Spike's record. Definitely 7 out of 10 for this vicious act alone.
Reason for Leaving Sunnydale: None. Drusilla seemed more happy to stay and help Angel in his plans for conquest, but the decision was taken out of her hands by Spike, who knocked her unconscious and drove her away from Sunnydale. She later left her long-time lover, but chances are she'll be back. And with a full healthy Spike and Drusilla, there may be nothing that can stop them.
Harmony:
Poor Harmony. Although Harmony was quite fond of her Blondie bear, it was clear that Spike never really appreciated Harm. Except for her body of course. Spike used Buffy to no end, for her crypt and for other things. Spike even staked Harmony because she spoke to much. However, after finding the ring of amara Spike left Harmony. Harmony was heart broken and determined to move on. Spike then returned full of apologizes:
Harmony: Spike? Spike, is that really you?
Spike: It's me, baby. Your man is- (Harmony slaps him across the face.) -back.
However Harmony takes him back and is full of reasoning that he will change:
Spike: Uh, yeah, and get used to it. Big daddy's home. We're gonna go wherever you want, do whatever you want, kill whoever you want. Starting with the slayer. And after that, it's all you and me, my little mentholated pack of smokes.
But his obsession with Buffy evidently tears them apart. Harmony tries to be everything for Spike, she helps try and kill the slayer, she tries and helps him get his chip out of his head and even dresses up as Buffy and pretends to stake Spike.
When Spike ties up the two great loves of his life Dru and Buffy, and not even her. Harmony completely flips:
Harmony: You forget about me again? The *actual* girlfriend? : I gave you the best ... bunch of months of my life! I thought I could change you, Spike. I thought maybe if I gave and I gave and gave, maybe you'd come around. Maybe be a little nicer. Stop treating me like your dog. (begins reloading the crossbow) But now I see it's you. You're the dog. Who needs to be put d-
Harmony leaves after telling Spike he " can say good-bye to this (pointing at her butt) because you're not gonna see it any more ever. (thinks) Unless you run into me somewhere and it's me walking away from you." And she leaves him, fleeing to Los Angeles to hook up with Cordelia and Angel.
Weird Wedding Chick:
After Buffy told Spike that their relationship was killing her, Spike found someone to make her jealous. The weird woman he brought to the wedding made
Buffy jealous :
Dawn: Spike's here and he brought a total skank.
Buffy:: (confused) A-
Dawn: Skank! A manic-panicked freak who he's like totally macking with right in the middle of the room. (they stop walking) I saw him shove his tongue-
Buffy: Spike brought a date?
Dawn: Yeah. (snickering) Wait till you see her.
Spike (sighs) I think we'll go.
Buffy:: Go where? To your place?
Spike (not thrilled) Yeah, I suppose. That was the idea.
Buffy: Y... Yeah.
Spike (defensively) Evil.
Buffy:: Of course.
Spike But I won't. Or I... (frustrated) I'll just go.
Spike realizes although making Buffy jealous was what happened, he didn't feel as good as it should have and just leaves her to continue glowing. (awww)
Anya:
Anya and Spike have had two goes of having a relationship or just being sex friends. The first was in Wild at Heart:
Anya: Spike! (petulantly) What are you doing? You made me yell really high. SPIKE: Hey! Yeah, I did. I scared you. (Grins. Walks right up to her until his face is inches from hers) Gimme money. Anya: I'm not paying you for scaring me. (Pushes him away.) SPIKE: You're not paying me. I'm robbing you.
They are both hurting after Anya and Xander had a fight and Spike was on the rebound from Dru again. They sit together contemplating the ways of being ex-demons (and vampires) and how Dru and Xander should pay. However, they both care about there past significant others to do any real damage.
Anya: "Do you have a sexy dance?"
The other major moment of lust and solace as Anya admits was between the two
in the episode Entropy. Spike had been dumped by Buffy and Xander left Anya by
the alter. The two got extremely pissed and had sex together. However, Buffy and
Xander see them both and they are extremely hurt. Anya admits later that
although she enjoyed herself, it was nothing just solace and they (both her and
Spike) were just trying to stop hurting.
Anya tried to hit on Spike again in season seven, but Spike just laughed
it off. She can't hold a candle to Buffy.
