DISCLAIMERS : I don't own these characters, Joss Whedon, the WB and Fox do.
SUMMARY : Freshmen, with a twist.
AUTHORS NOTES : Its funny, read it. Its kinda bad fic, but its the fic embodiment of everything that SHOULD be in BTVS.

Students everywhere scurried around the bookstore, all freshmen, all awaiting to start the adventure that was College at Sunnydale University.

"Here," Willow smiled, giving her best friend a basket to carry Buffy's abundant number of books. She just hoped the Slayer would actually use them to study, and not use them as her desk paperweights.

"Thanks," Buffy said, putting her books in the basket. College was so overwhelming, but she had to keep up a good front for Willow. Didn't wanna be the downer of the group... "Can't wait till Mom gets the bill for these books. I hope its a funny aneurysm." she joked weakly.

Willow pointed to the top of the shelf, indicating more books Buffy would need. "Introduction to Psychology, up there by that anvil."

"I'll get 'em," Buffy looked up, "You know, this store discriminates against short people."

"Oh, I think there's a protest next week," Willow exclaimed, still reeling from the choice of University life.

Getting on the very tips of her feet, the vertically challenged Slayer knocked the books, along with the Anvil, off the shelf.

"Oh my god!" Buffy screamed, wide eyed. The books and anvil fell right on a young man's crotch. But by now, Buffy's shocked scream was drowned by the excruciatingly audible yell of the man.

"I am so sorry!" the Slayer squeaked.

The ugly greasy haired man just kept screaming in pain, tears of anguish flooding down his face.

"I'm so... the books were just too high, and then everything was bad," Buffy awkwardly and very sincerely apologized, but cringing at the sight of his now bloodied... area.

His loud screams still continued, while he was rolling on the floor in pain.

Grabbing Willow's arm, and looking straight at the exit, the two shocked freshmen hurriedly left, not wanting to cause attention to themselves.

They walked quickly in silence, both wide eyed. Taking refuge in a bench completely away from the "crime" scene, Willow finally spoke.

"Oh. My. God." she blurted, her voice in a mix of disbelief and humor

"I did NOT just do that, I really didn't," Buffy repeated, trying to hide her laughter.

"Oh, my god..." Willow suddenly whispered, looking dazed.

"Yeah I know! I mean, you only see that stuff in the movies!" the Slayer, still in her own little world, exclaimed.

"No, Buffy..." Willow pointed to who she was looking at, trying to get her friends attention, "Over there, look."

Still grinning about the events moments before, Buffy turned her head, looking in the direction to where the Wicca was pointing.

"Oh, my, god..." Buffy whispered, her smile vanishing. Mouth agape, she couldn't believe what she saw.

Angel, standing in the shining Sunnydale sun looked back at her, intensely. There he was, clad in his usual black trench coat... over his broad shoulders...

She stared back into his deep brown eyes, revelling in the pure pleasure of looking into them again. If eyes were truly windows to the soul, the two lovers only had eyes for each other.

Walking dazedly over to him, never breaking their gaze, Buffy understood why he was here. Somehow, his redemption, his atonement... what he had really left her to find... He had found it. Angel opened his arms to her, and pulled her in an intimate embrace. Breathing in his scent, Buffy cried tears of joy...

Quickly forgetting their surroundings, the two engaged in a passionate kiss. Buffy lost herself in that kiss, washing all thoughts of life, slaying, and the guy with the bloody crotch, away.

Angel was home, and for the first time, she felt good about starting College.
