Angel Episode Guide Season 2

01. Judgement

After talking with the host at the demon bar about his future, Angel walks out and encounters Darla. The two dance and talk before they kiss passionately. Angel then awakens, shaken by the disturbing dream. While Angel sleeps late, Cordelia and Wesley clean and organize their new office. Gunn arrives at the hotel, expecting Angel to be awake and able to help him. When Angel finally wakes up, David Nabbit is there to offer financial advice in regards to Angel's investment in the hotel. The whole gang and Gunn meet up with a man named Jameel in order to get information about a demon named, Deevak. Gunn gets violent when Jameel won't talk, but the interruption of a pack of vampires prevents Gunn from getting answers. After dusting the three vampires with quite a bit of effort, everyone complains about their injuries. After dropping Angel off at the hotel and returning home, Cordelia gets a vision of Gunn in danger. When Wesley and Angel both aren't available to help, Cordelia takes it upon herself to save Gunn. Angel enjoys happy dreams of being with Darla until Wesley arrives and interrupts. Cordelia mistakenly attacks one of Gunn's friends, Joey, when she thinks that Joey is attacking Gunn. Gunn walks Cordelia to the car, but it turns out that Angel's car has been stolen. Without a car, Angel is forced to ride on Wesley's motorcycle, wearing a pink helmet in order to help save Gunn. With Cordelia at his side, Gunn tracks down the Desmond, who stole Angel's car. Before he can get information on the car's whereabouts, a huge pack of vampires attack the party. Gunn fends off most of them, but one of Gunn's close friends, Veronica, is cut badly by a piece of broken glass. Gunn reacts badly to the fact that Veronica nearly died, especially because he can't forget his sister's death. Angel and Wesley arrive in time to witness the aftermath of the party, but find the location of Deevak through one of the surviving vampires at the party. After finally finding Angel's car, Gunn also finds Deevak. Holding Gunn by the throat and Cordelia by the arm, Deevak turns into Jameel. After Cordelia sprays Jameel with mace, he lets go of Cordelia and Gunn long enough to revert back to his ugly, demonic form. Angel and Wesley arrive to help and Angel finally kills Deevak with an ax. Cordelia warns Gunn that he was the danger she saw in her vision. She intends to help prevent him from destroying himself. Angel dreams that he returns to the hotel and Darla is there to comfort him. As he sleeps and dreams of his romantic encounters with his sire, Darla climbs over Angel in bed and kisses him

Angel wakes up to even more bickering from Cordelia and Wesley then Cordelia gets a vision with sketchy details. While Cordelia and Wesley try to find the demon and location from Cordelia's vision, Angel daydreams of Darla. The entire gang arrive at a convent where two groups of cloaked men are fighting in front of a Thrall demon. The men then attack Angel and friends. Gunn uses his new ax to destroy the demon and all the cloaked men stop fighting. Walking home, Angel is shocked to see Darla walking the streets. In the past, Angel walks through the streets until he finds Darla, after she killed two people. She points out a young woman to Angel, who we recognize as Drusilla. Angel takes the young woman, pure and with the gift of visions, as a challenge. A potential paying customer presents a case to Cordelia and Wesley about his wife who is cheating on him with another man. Angel tells Wesley and Cordelia about seeing Darla in his dreams and in real life but they think he's starting to loose his sanity. Lindsey and Darla talk about Angel and how he's progressing. At a police station, Kate works a desk job where she receives notice from a friend that Angel has moved his company into the old Hyperion Hotel. Angel Investigations spy on a woman having an affair, but Angel spoils their cover by confronting the woman and telling her to talk to her husband. As they're leaving, Angel spots Darla but when he confronts her, she's human and claims to be DeEtta Kramer. Angel sings at the demon bar in order to get information about Darla from the bar host but gets no answers. Angel finds the Kramer home and lurks outside while inside, Darla waits for the plan to take form. Stephen reveals himself to be nothing more than an actor, posing as a husband for Darla. Meanwhile, Cordelia and Wesley warn Gunn about the dangers of an evil Angel and Darla combined. In a flashback, Angelus and Darla fool around while a frightened human Drusilla watches on. Although Darla doesn't seem to approve, Angel announces that he'll make Drusilla a vampire. Darla and Lindsey's plan goes into effect when Angel breaks into her home in time to find himself setup for murdering Darla's supposed husband. The police arrive on scene, but Angel is able to escape without getting captured. Kate talks with Darla on the scene, but when Kate turns her back, Angel grabs Darla and takes her away to the convent. He does everything he can to bring the real Darla to the fore and with some persuasion, she does. The two kiss and Darla tries to convince Angel to let her make him happy. He tells her she never made him happy, but still she persists and tries to bring his demon out. With plenty of back up, Kate breaks into the hotel to search for Angel. She's determined to believe that Angel is and always will be evil. Cordelia and Wesley try to convince Kate that Darla was once a vampire and that Angel didn't kill anyone. Darla refuses to give up on Angel, but she leaves him underground until sunset. Angel broods in his room until Cordelia and Wesley confront him to make sure he's not evil. He tells them that much trouble is on the way, and he's looking forward to it

A potential client shows up at the hotel, in need of Angel's services, but he's not there and Wesley isn't the greatest example of a professional. Angel tries to hunt down Darla at Wolfram and Hart, but Cordelia and Wesley stop him. Angel consults the demon host at the karaoke bar, and without having to sing, the host refers Angel to Swami, T'ish Magev, for help. Cordelia and Wesley hold down the office while Angel is away, both glad that he is seeking help to calm his obsession with Darla. At the office, a thug holds Cordelia at gunpoint, demanding to see Angel, and Wesley is forced to pose as their vampire boss in order to save her. At a quiet cabin, Angel talks with the unusually normal-looking Swami about his choice of clothing, style of car, and brand of hair gel. A rich businessman, Magnus Bryce is in need of Angel's services to protect his daughter from threats presented by a business opponent, Paul Lanier. He offers Wesley blood that he forces down, to keep from ruining his cover. Wesley meets the Mr. Bryce's daughter, Virginia, and then the two go shopping. Cordelia sends Gunn to find Angel while she researches the man who took Wesley. Wesley and Virginia talk about her relationship with her father until two men working for Paul Lanier try to kidnap Virginia. Angel and the Swami fight with pool sticks and Angel gets his butt kicked because he doesn't want to hurt the man. Later, the Swami talks with the businessman over the phone, revealing that he's a fake. Since Angel is with an associate posing as a Swami, Bryce realizes there is a fake protecting his daughter. Cordelia finds a picture of the man who took Wesley in a magazine. Angel and the fake Magev fish and Angel is advised to find a blond woman to love then break the heart of so he will feel better about his situation with Darla. Virginia and Wesley talk about how she wants freedom from the prison her father's created for her, then the two kiss. The curse is an obstacle at first, but Wesley dispels the truth about the curse and the two have sex. Gunn arrives at the swami cabin, but the fake swami knocks him out. Angel witnesses this, and uses a fishing poll to pull the man out of the sun and into his grasp. Cordelia arrives at the Bryce home, but before she can rescue Wesley, Virginia finds out that he's not really Angel. In order to get a significant amount of power from a Davric demon, Bryce plans to sacrifice his daughter. Angel and Wesley conclude that Lanier was trying to prevent the sacrifice so that Bryce wouldn't get the power. Bryce starts the ritual of sacrificing his daughter, but Angel and crew interrupt. Yeska appears, but won't take Virginia as a sacrifice because she is not a virgin. Furious about her father's actions, Virginia punches him and disassociates herself from him. After reading an article in a magazine, both Cordelia and Angel are jealous of the fact that Wesley is embellishing on his work and getting a lot of attention as Virginia's bodyguard.

Two detectives talk to a man in an interrogation room about a murder an attempted murder. The man turns out to be Wesley and he tells them it shouldn't have happened, but everything just went very, very wrong. Without revealing the vampire's name, Wesley explains that Angel wasn't supposed to be there, but since he's so stubborn, he was there anyway. Before this, Wesley stopped by the hotel and talked with Cordelia. She's cut her hair and he's noticing it for the first time. Since Angel is on a case with Gunn, Cordelia and Wesley go to a movie premiere. Angel and Gunn meet with Gunn's cousin, Lester and he asks for their help. Lester is supposed to be a driver for a demonic robbery but he wants nothing to do with it. A vampire Angel knows by reputation, Jay-Don, is being brought in to help. Much to Gunn's dismay, Angel takes charge of the case. Angel returns to the hotel and finds Kate in his room. She wants information on Darla and despite the cross she carries, Angel is not threatened and warns her to back off before she is killed. Wesley and Cordelia are overly happy that Angel is back into the game and not so worried about Darla. Angel meets Jay-Don at the bus station and kills him, taking over the un-life of the very exuberant vampire. A demon named Menlow meets with the vampire he thinks is Jay-Don and takes him to the others. Another demon, Vyasa, a human security guard, Bob, and Gunn pretending to be his cousin complete the team. Cordelia researches museums to find which one may be the location of the robbery. They find information about the Shroud of Rahmon, that they believe to be the target. Wesley and Cordelia continue their research on the shroud and find that it causes people around it to act differently, and possibly insane. After blowing through the lock on the vault, the only one who can pass the thermal scan, Angel, breaks inside and finds the shroud within a tomb that belongs to a demon, Rahmon. Being near the shroud causes Angel looses control and shift to his yellow eyes and vampire visage. Wesley and Cordelia enter the building and are immediately hit by an invisible wave that alters their behavior. The demons, humans and vampires slowly carry the tomb on a path out of the building. The shroud begins to affect them all, causing Gunn and Angel to attack each other. Vyasa kills Bob by ripping of his head. Cordelia talks to a mannequin and takes the jewelry decorating the plastic human. Wesley encounters Kate at the building and has trouble keeping focused on his mission to help Angel. Wesley confronts Angel and tries to warn him about the shroud. Kate finds Angel and the others and pulls a gun on them. Angel confronts her, knocking her gun out of the way and biting her. A police team arrives and finds Wesley leaning over Kate's body. The tomb is carried to another building and shroud's effect on the demons, Angel and Gunn leads them all to fight over it. Gunn and Angel play tug of war with the shroud until Angel convinces Gunn to let go. After dousing the shroud in alcohol, Angel sets it aflame. Again in the interrogation room, the detectives are convinced that Wesley is the killer. Just as they're about to arrest him, Kate shows up and tells them to let him go. She remembers that Angel did bite her briefly, but told her to stay down or be killed. Wesley and Cordelia think about what happened, and Wesley worries that Angel's bloodlust has been reawakened by the taste of human blood. They seem to be right as Angel sits in his room, his thoughts focused on biting Kate

Angel works on many drawings of Darla and Wesley expresses his concern that Angel has become completely obsessed with Darla. Lindsey finds Darla in her apartment, bleeding from cuts caused from mirrors she smashed. Memories of her existence have started to haunt her. In 1609, Virginia Colony, Darla lies in her deathbed, covered in wounds. A prostitute, she is dying from disease. She receives a visit from the Master, who takes her life and makes her one of the darkness. In the present, Angel tries to encourage his friends to help him find Darla. They begin by searching for Darla's place of residence. In 1760, Darla brings Angelus before the Master, bragging about how wonderful her new childe is. Angelus's lack of respect towards the Master is an embarrassment to Darla. Angelus receives a beating from the Master, and in the end, Darla chooses Angelus over the Master. Wesley informs Angel that Wolfram and Hart are using Darla to keep Angel out of their way, and it is working. Holland talks with Lindsey at the firm and Holland says that Darla is cracking up earlier than expected. Their plan has changed, but it has not been destroyed yet. In London, 1880, Angelus and Darla try to deal with Drusilla's insanity. While strolling the streets, they bump into a man, whom we later know as Spike. In need of companionship, Drusilla selects him to be made into a vampire. Cordelia manages to get Darla's home address, which Wesley and Gunn go to investigate. Darla enjoys the view from Lindsey's office, suffering through the memories of her life and her death. Lindsey kisses Darla and she struggles to find out who she really is. In 1898, Darla asks a Gypsy to bring back her Angelus in exchange for her protection of his family. Unfortunately, Spike has already killed the Gypsy's family and Darla's plans are ruined. Darla calls Angel at the hotel, asking him for help, but Lindsey catches her. A security guard tries to help Lindsey with Darla, which eventually results in the security guard getting shot, and Darla escaping. Holland talks to Lindsey talk about the incident in his office and Holland terminates the Darla project. Angel ignores the protests of his friends and goes after Darla. In a flashback to the Boxer Rebellion in China, Angel tracks down Darla. Despite being cursed with a soul, Angel asks her for a second chance to rule at her side. Angel violently persuades Lindsey to reveal what he knows about Darla's location. Again during the Boxer Rebellion, Angel comes upon a family, with a young baby. He distracts his vampire companions from them and tries to express excitement when Spike reveals he's killed a Slayer. Angel returns to Darla at their home and she asks to prove that he's evil by taking the life of a baby. We later see that Angel's soul prevents him from pretending to be evil and he jumps through a window, with the baby. In the present, Darla is taken to a secluded location where she is to be killed at the orders of Wolfram and Hart. Angel rescues her and brings her back to the hotel. Upon returning to the offices, Lindsey finds that the security guard he supposedly killed is actually alive. Holland reveals that the plan was not for perfect happiness, but for Angel to make Darla a vampire again. Darla asks for Angel's help, for him to make her a vampire. She tries to convince him that he owes her, but he won't do it and leaves, telling him to stay away.

Gunn carries Angel back to the hotel, having been called by Angel for help. Angel babbles about the recent events and reveals to his co-workers that Drusilla has returned to make Darla a vampire again. He intends to intervene before it is completed and stake Darla. Wesley and Cordelia look for any information they can find on Wolfram and Hart's plans for Drusilla and Darla. Angel breaks into Lindsey's apartment only to find it completely empty. The landlord talks about Lindsey's cousin and her plans to have a baby. Angel realizes that the cousin is Drusilla and her plans with a nursery and a view of the stars are part of her plans for a traditional rebirth. Drusilla prepares the ritual in a greenhouse at the top of a building. At the office, Angel rants about Drusilla, trying to figure out where she and Darla are located. Using the information they do have, Angel and crew are able to find the location of the vampires. Angel finds Darla buried beneath a layer of dirt and a tarp. Just as he's about to stake her, Drusilla knocks him down with a shovel. While Angel fights with his childe, Darla wakes up. Angel battles against both females until Darla leaps from the top of the building to the ground and Drusilla disappears. With no information about the two female vampires or their whereabouts, Angel arms his friends and they all head to Wolfram and Hart for answers. Holland talks to Lindsey about a wine tasting at his house. Drusilla reveals herself to be hiding in the shadows, and she's worried about Darla. Unrepentantly, Darla appears and drags Drusilla with her and out of the building. In the car, Cordelia gets a vision and resorts to threatening her boss with a stake in order to make him turn the car around. Darla throws Drusilla around town, literally, angry and demanding answers. Drusilla explains her reasons for remaking her grand sire, then breaks down into tears and Darla comforts her. After their reunion, Darla kills a man and the girls go shopping. Angel takes care of the man Cordelia's vision sent him after. He quickly disarms the man who is sacrificing his life to a demon then ignores his friend's protests and pursues the two vampires painting L.A. red. Holland calls Drusilla and tells the ladies to massacre the town with the full support of the firm. Darla and Drusilla raid a clothing store for new wardrobes, killing the salespeople in the process. Angel crashes through a window into an office at Wolfram and Hart. He demands information about Darla and Drusilla from Lindsey but gets none. Angel is arrested and put in a police car with Kate. She realizes that she can't stop Darla and Drusilla and releases Angel, hoping that he can. Holland's wife, Catherine leads Lindsey into the wine cellar of Holland's home. Holland gives a speech to his colleagues, but he is interrupted by the appearance of Darla and Drusilla who plan to massacre those in the wine cellar. Angel talks to a woman hiding in a dressing room and finds that Dru and Darla are headed to Holland's. Holland apologizes to Darla and tries to convince her that the firm is an ally. She senses fear from everyone in the room except for Lindsey. After being bitten by Drusilla, a dying Catherine invites Angel inside in her plea for help. Although Angel knows what will happen, he locks the vampires in the room with those from Wolfram and Hart, not caring that they will be killed. Wesley, Gunn and Cordelia question Angel's actions and partially blame themselves for not doing something sooner. They are all concerned about him and the fact they're the only thing that between him and evil. Realizing this, Angel fires them all and leaves.

Cordelia and Wesley talk about Angel while Angel is down in the basement, doing his laundry. Gunn has located Darla at the Royal Viking Motel, but Lindsey has gotten to her first. Lindsey and Holland confront Darla with information about her health. Angel and Gunn check out the motel room, but find little information. In France, 1765, Angelus and Darla run from a vampire hunter and hide in a barn. As the mob closes in, Darla knocks Angelus down and leaves on the only horse. In present time, Darla tries to talk a young male vampire into making her a vampire. Outside, in an alley, Angel stakes the vampire before he can bite Darla. They talk and Darla reveals that she is terminally ill and only has a few months left to live. Angel brings Darla to the hotel and expresses that he doubts the truth of the records Wolfram and Hart showed her. Angel visits Lindsey and finds that Darla really is dying. Lindsey reveals that Darla is dying from the same diseases she was dying from when she was first human. Angel takes Darla to the demon karaoke bar where she sings beautifully while the Host talks to Angel. He tells Angel of the only way to save Darla, but it may mean Angel's death. Angel dives into an empty pool and into an underground location where he must survive three trials to save Darla's life. Angel is advised by a valet before being left in a room to fight unarmed against a large demon that has weapons. Angel eventually slices the demon in two, and chains the pieces to opposite sides of the room. From the safety of another room, Darla watches. Angel moves onto another room that consists of crosses covering the walls and floors. After crossing the burning ground, Angel must fish a key out of a bowl filled with holy water. Chained spread-eagle before a wall of wooden stakes, Angel finds that the third trial requires him to die in order for Darla to live. The valet presents Angel with his options, but Angel is willing to give his life, and that enough to pass the test. The valet gives Angel and Darla bad news though as it's revealed that Darla is already living her second chance at life. Furious, Angel violently attacks the room that surrounds them, truly distraught that after everything he went through, he couldn't save Darla. Upon returning to the surface, Darla is accepting of her fate and Angel is there to support her. Lindsey and several large men break into the room and restrain Angel and Darla. Drusilla makes a shocking return and while Angel watches, she makes Darla a vampire, again.
